Call for Entries 

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for one of the awards below, the individual or business must have conducted the activity between August 1st, 2010 and September 23rd, 2011. You are not permitted to enter a submission, or self-nominate for the award that you won in the previous year.

The judges reserve the right to not award within any category if the submission does not meet the criteria or to move an award submission to another category.

Submission Tips

Tips from previous winners and judges.

  • Before you begin writing, read all the criteria carefully
  • Start working on your submission as early as possible
  • Brainstorm the questions with your staff, business partners and community stakeholders
  • Use bullet points
  • Keep your answers concise and simple
  • Always get someone who does not know your business / event / attraction to read over your entry
  • Let your passion for what you do shine through in your nomination
  • Gather supporting data to back your entry
  • Remember judges can only evaluate what is submitted
  • Assist the panel by providing a comprehensive submission that includes samples and full background information
  • Don't forget your two (2) reference letters

Online

Entries can be submitted online. You may nominate yourself or another business or event that you feel is worthy of recognition. Self-nominations are welcome. To enter online, simply click on the title of the award below.

Email

The entry questions are to be answered in the order that they appear. Documents must be submitted in Word or PDF format - NO other formats will be accepted. If you are emailing your entry you must submit a complete document. Send all parts of the submission in one file. Images and/or video may be submitted separately, but must be clearly labeled. Submissions should be no longer than 3 pages in length. Please refer to category questions and maximum word counts for each answer.

  • *NEW* A MINIMUM of 3 images must be attached. Images MUST be in JPEG format only, 300 dpi resolutions.
  • If submitting a video, it must be edited to no longer than 3 minutes and must be submitted in either MP4 or WMV file.

Hard Copy

The entry questions are to be answered in the order that they appear. Please type on a white 8.5”x11” paper using Arial font. Do not staple the response to the questionnaire. If submitting more than one piece of paper, please paperclip the pages together. Submissions should be no longer than 3 pages in length. Please refer to category questions and maximum word counts for each answer. Please deliver your entry to the Visitor & Tourism Centre, 399 Wayne Gretzky Parkway.

  • *NEW* A MINIMUM of 3 images (5” x 7”) must be submitted with the package along with a CD or USB containing the digital copies in JPEG format only, 300 dpi resolution.
  • If submitting a video, it must be edited to no longer than 3 minutes and must be submitted in either MP3 or windows media file. CD or USB accepted. All videos must be labeled with the category name of the event and your company name.
